Common questions

Does it work with my theme?

Yes. Launch Control is a Shopify theme app extension that integrates through the Shopify Theme Editor and works with any published theme, including Online Store 2.0 and legacy themes. No code edits or liquid template changes are needed.

What happens if a customer tries to buy a Coming Soon product?

The Add to Cart button is replaced on your product and collection pages. Even if a customer finds another way to add the item to their cart, a Shopify checkout validation function blocks the purchase server-side. Protection works at both the storefront and checkout level.

Can I use it on my whole store or just specific products?

Launch Control works per-product. You mark individual products as Coming Soon while the rest of your catalog stays fully purchasable. This makes it ideal for teasing a new SKU while your other products sell normally.

Does it work with the Shop app or Point of Sale?

Launch Control works through your Shopify Online Store theme only. Products on other sales channels including POS, the Shop app, or Google, remain purchasable on those channels. If you need to block a product everywhere, unpublish it from those channels separately.

Where is my data stored?

All Coming Soon settings, custom messages, countdown timers, and FAQs are stored in your Shopify store's metafields. No data is sent to or stored on Launch Control's servers.

What is the difference between the free plan and Premium?

The free plan supports 1 Coming Soon product with core badge and checkout protection features. Premium ($4.99/month) gives you unlimited Coming Soon products, countdown timers with auto-release scheduling, product FAQ sections, and custom color controls.

Will Coming Soon products hurt my SEO?

No. Coming Soon products remain crawlable and indexed. The pages still exist. Only the purchase functionality is restricted. This is generally good for SEO, since you can start building page authority before the product launches.
